Ripe Rice Season in Cao Bằng

Cao Ky Nhan won the gold prize in the international photo contest for his photograph taken in the ripe rice valley of Phong Nam while wearing a striking yellow robe on the side of the mountains and hills and the Quây Son river.

Cao Ky Nhan, 40, of HCMC, is the only Vietnamese photographer to win gold at the Epson International Pano Awards, which were announced in early October.

Cao Ky Nhan's ripe rice valley Phong Nam, winner of a gold award.

Nhan stated that the photo was taken in late September 2019 in Phong Nam, Cao Bang, when the entire valley was covered in a yellow coat of ripe rice, highlighting the mountains, hills, and the Quây Son river.

Although not as well-known as Ban Gioc Waterfall, Phong Nam Valley is still a popular tourist destination due to its charming and poetic beauty. The scenery here gives visitors the impression that they are in another world, one that is both beautiful, peaceful, and liberal.

Cao Bang ripe rice season, which occurs every year from late September to mid-October, is a beautiful location that draws many tourists and photographers.

When viewed from above, Phong Nam Cao Bang appears to be a piece of silk stretching endlessly with beautiful colors; the Quây Sơn line is the highlight that enhances the natural picture.

The best time to photograph in Phong Nam is when the sun is just rising and the afternoon is about to end, and the clouds are floating halfway up the mountain, creating a poetic and foreboding scene.

Aside from the golden rice fields of Phong Nam valley, nestled at the foot of the mountain are the rooftops of ethnic people, with approximately 20-30 households living together.

People in Phong Nam primarily live by farming and going to the forest; the pace of life here is slow and gentle; in addition to watching the landscape, you can also visit the valley villages and learn about the people who live there.

Because the Tay people inhabit the majority of the villages in Phong Nam, the people have retained the rich features of the mountainous region.

Tourists In early October, the rice fields in Phong Nam valley have ripened, and the Tay people's rooftops, with about 20-30 households living together, are nestled at the foot of the mountain.

Phong Nam Valley is located in Phong Nam Commune, Trùng Khánh District, Cao Bang Province, and is a Cao Bang dong border district bordering Ngoc Khe commune, south of Kham Thanh commune, west of Ngoc Chung commune, and north of Jingxi district in Bach Hue, Quảng Tây of China. This location is only 15 kilometers from the center of Trùng Khánh district and has an easy road for tourists to move and explore.

Cao Ky Nhan is a travel inspiration with her high-angle photos of the homeland landscape and the pace of human life.

Cao Ky Nhan is a Phu Yen native who now lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City. As a photographer, I frequently travel to paint water, capturing beautiful landscapes from South to North.

Quây Sơn River - A Watercolor in Autumn

The river is fogged in, and the rice fields on both sides of the Quây Sơn River are turning golden, creating an enchanting scene. In September, when other parts of the North are gearing up for harvest, the rice on both sides of the Quây Sơn River is still green, with a few rice fields gradually turning yellow to form beautiful colored boxes.Nguyen Trong Cung (Thai Binh) spent a day last week roaming along Quây Sơn, capturing the beautiful moments of the river from morning to night this autumn. In the early morning, the palace chooses a high, open location to get a panoramic view of the river and 'hunt clouds.' When the early morning sun shines through the fog, it creates beautiful sun rays that transform the mountains and forests here into a water painting that attracts visitors. The village appears to be quiet and rustic, situated on a river crossed by a suspension bridge. And the road connecting Chongqing town and Phong Nam commune is about 10 kilometers long, with a beautiful 'golden season' view popular with photographers.

The rice here began to ripen evenly in October, attracting more visitors.

The best time of day for nature photography in Quây Son is when the sun is rising and setting.Children bathe and play in the river. The peaceful scenery makes visitors feel very relaxed and comfortable after the sun goes down. From Ngọc Côn commune, Trùng Khánh district, Cao Bang province, the Quây Sơn stream enters Vietnam. Except for a few days of heavy rain, the river water is blue all year. The river that forms the Ban Gioc waterfall, which was once ranked as one of the world's most beautiful waterfalls, is one of the tourist destinations that first-time visitors to Cao Bang should visit.
