A strange Dalat

Dalat is described by Vietnamese people with many different adjectives, such as poetic, quiet, or ancient, and it can be a resort paradise or a place for souls who like to explore mysterious things. In short, Dalat has a little bit of everything that foreigners and Vietnamese alike are looking for.

Have you ever wondered if Dalat looks the same to international tourists, especially those with sophisticated travel experience, as it does to us? If so, we discover a whole new Dalat through the closed mausoleum of Australian travel writer and blogger Emily.

EMILY – A TRAVEL BLOGGER WITH A SPECIAL LOVE FOR VIETNAM

Emily is a journalist who is passionate about fair trade, responsible tourism, and sustainable fashion. Emily is currently a freelance writer, photographer, and travel blogger. Emily is passionate about cultural exploration, advocating for responsible, sustainable tourism, and assisting communities in developing through tourism.

Emily began her global journey in 2015, writing on her blog, "I have always held a special place in my heart for Vietnam and this is where I have always wanted to write about."

EMILY'S LENS ON DALAT - THE CITY OF SPECIAL ARCHITECTURAL WORKS

Instead of being drawn to Da Lat's vast pine forests, majestic waterfalls, or cool weather, Emily is drawn to the city's unique architecture.

Dalat has everything that a tourist who loves architecture, like Emily, is looking for: luxurious colonial-style villas, rudimentary concrete buildings, wooden houses built in the last century, French architecture with perfectly symmetrical houses painted in bright colors like gold or pastel pink, and liberal planning.

When the French came to Dalat, they gave it wide boulevards, wide roundabouts, and beautiful flower gardens. They have also constructed a variety of villas, monasteries, and European government buildings in Da Lat, all of which can be compared to Hanoi or Hoi An.

She also stated that, with works constructed between the 1930s and 1940s, Dalat is the most interesting place for those looking for traces of French architecture in Vietnam or simply looking for the most unique photos for their Instagram.

INTERESTING PLACES AT EMILY'S SUGGESTION

DOMAINE DE MARIE CHURCH (VINH SON CHURCH)

The Domaine de Marie church, one of the catholic churches built in the 1940s, is built in French architecture with a striking pink color that can turn coral or brick depending on the angle of the sun. The church's main entrance is a slope leading up a small hill with stairs and fences lined with shadows cast by the surrounding flower gardens.

A large monastery painted in similar colors, graceful and feminine, is located behind the church. Emily was also taken with the cross symbol on the shutters and the cane stripe details on the top floor windows.

PASTEUR INSTITUTE

Emily stated that visitors can find Pasteur Institute branches in many cities throughout Indochina and that the Pasteur Institute is now owned by the Vietnamese government. Emily's fantasy hobby in Hanoi was photographing administrative buildings. Still, in Dalat, the security guard at the station greeted her warmly and instructed her to take pictures in front of the gate. Emily was particularly taken with the building's perfect symmetry (the house had an unintentionally Wes Anderson feel to it) and its bright yellow and steel-gray color palette.

NICHOLAS CHURCH (CHICKEN CHURCH)

The Romanesque-style church, which was built of bricks in 1930, took a decade to complete. Because it is the city's largest church, the Chicken Church is also known as Nicholas Church or Dalat Church.

The church has recently been freshly painted in an eye-catching cream-pink color, and the entire church and complex are meticulously maintained. Emily's favorite feature of this church is its magnificent stained glass windows and relief sculptures.DALAT RAILWAY STATION

Emily believes that Dalat Station, designed by French architects in 1932, is the city's most famous structure. The station was part of the Dalat-Thap Cham railway, which connected Da Lat with Northern Vietnam when it opened in 1938. Both the station and the railway have a long history. Tourists are currently served along this route.

The station, renamed the "Dalat Highland Railway" and decorated in a classic style, is the site's defining feature, but the buildings behind it are even more appealing when one of the carriages is converted into an acafé.

Emily revealed that this was the only place in Da Lat where she had to pay to take photos, with a ticket price of 10,000 VND per person.

FRENCH VILLA VILLAGE

Emily realized the difference between French architecture in Hanoi and Da Lat after arriving at this location. In Hanoi, old houses are frequently located close to each other on the same small street corner, and visitors can easily walk around and explore everything. In Dalat, French villas line both sides of the long main road, making walking appear more difficult. Emily recommends that visitors pick a small section of this long road to walk around.

She gradually discovers why this beautiful city is famous for its mysterious and somewhat creepy stories at this attraction. The neighborhood is full of long-abandoned houses, some of which have been refurbished but retain a distinct ancient and mystical feel. At this location, Emily was also impressed by a hotel called Green Dream Dalat Hostel.

YERSIN COLLEGE

Despite knowing that Yersin College is one of the International Architectural Association's (UIA) 1,000 outstanding architectural works of the twentieth century, both historically and aesthetically, Emily is surprised to see it in use.

The massive bell tower and walls are solidly built of red monolithic ceiling tiles, arched doors, and classrooms, all on an unthinkable scale, according to Emily. Emily was also surprised that the school was still open for business while the door was open to welcome tourists when she visited this location.

PALACE III BAO DAI

Emily's next recommended destination in Da Lat is King Bao Dai's Summer Palace (Palace III Bao Dai). This is the most popular tourist attraction on the list and one of the few colonial structures that have been completely restored on the inside.

Emily was particularly taken with the Art Deco style of this 1933 mansion. Emily also stated that the ticket price of 15,000 VND / person is a very reasonable price for visitors to visit a beautiful and historic mansion like Bao Dai Palace.

HOTEL DU PARC DALAT AND CAFÉ LA POSTE

The Hôtel du Parc and Cafe La Poste are located on the same street near Dalat Cathedral. Du Parc Da Lat, according to Emily, is not as grand as Metropole in Hanoi or Continental in Saigon, but with the same architectural school as Bauhaus, it's an interesting getaway when visiting Dalat. Emily recommends a tea party at the Belle Époque-style Le Café de la Poste restaurant.

Rice terraces wildflowers R’Chai volcano

Kneeling wildflowers cover the banks from the top to the foot of the R'Chai volcano, giving this season the appearance of ripe northwest rice terraces.

R'Chai is located on provincial road 724 in R'Chai 3 village, Phu Hoi commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, about 40 kilometers from Da Lat's center in the direction of the Lien Khuong highway to Saigon.

Wildflowers kneeling in R'Chai, like many other places in Da Lat, began to bloom brightly around the end of October, and the beginning of November, coloring the entire mountain. The K'Ho Cil primarily inhabits R'Chai. R'Chai is described as a double mountain by his compatriot K'Ho Cil.

For thousands of years, R'Chai has been a dormant volcano, with lava remnants leaving fertile basalt-red soil. This is the largest crop-growing area in Lam Dong province's Duc Trong district. When viewed from above, the mountain is a brilliant yellow color, with green fields mixed with beautiful basalt-red soil at its base. This season, the blooming of wildflowers has drawn many visitors from near and far to check in.

It will take you about 45 minutes to walk from the bottom of the mountain to the top if you are in good health. Alternatively, you can ride a motorcycle for about 15 minutes up the middle of the volcano to the locals' vegetable fields. The shape of the wildflowers in R'Chai, despite being wild, reminds visitors of the terraces in the Northwest Mountains. On the banks of potato corn plots, wildflowers bloom. When visitors reach the top of the mountain, they are surrounded by the pink color of weasel-tailed grass and the green color of the crops cultivated and cared for by the people, in addition to the yellow color of wildflowers.R'Chai was painted in the dazzling landscape as the sunset. The yellow of wildflowers matches the yellow of the sunset, the basalt red, and the green of the trees... making the R'Chai space unmistakably beautiful.

To avoid getting lost because this is a new check-in point when you arrive at provincial road 724 in R'Chai 3 village, Phu Hoi commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, go straight to the residential area of Hamlet 3, alley 3/2 will bring you to the foot of R'Chai mountain. You can ride a motorcycle to the center of the volcano and enjoy the stunning scenery...

Rendezvous on a hill of pink grass

Those who have ever enjoyed singing on the pink grass hill of Da Lat in the early morning will never forget that scene and will remember the dear mountain town every year until the end of autumn and early winter.

People have been talking about the season of glittering pink grass carpeted on the deserted hills of Da Lat for the past few years. Few people realize, however, that the image of pink grass hills stretching out to the eyes has been featured in Pham Duy's song since 1970:

"Take me up the hill, there's no grass there.

Pick me up the hill, and we'll meet at sunrise.

Love has beautiful legs.

Remove your sandals and walk on the soft grass."

"Pink Grass" is the title of a song that acts as a diary page for infatuated youth, for musician Pham Duy's romance. Throughout the song, the pink grass hill represents a space filled with various love emotions. Perhaps 50 years ago, to date, the grass did not have to travel as far as it does today because the pink grass was present in the city's hills.

Pink grass is a weed; I'm not sure if it has a poetic name - pink grass - but farmers in this country call it hissing grass. They frequently grow in open ground in gardens, particularly on coffee plantations. The rainy season, according to the people of Da Lat, is the grass that begins to grow on the ground on any vacant land that has been left uncultivated for a long time. The blooming season begins at the end of October. When asked about the locals, they all smiled and replied, "Dalat people, who go to endless remote areas to see flowers?" The natives are not unfamiliar with this grass, nor do they overlook the beauty of these pure velvet carpets. Simply put, they went to the garden or a vacant lot on their way to work and were surrounded by small, idyllic pink grass. Perhaps that is enough for a wildflower to bloom every year for them.

Until about 7 or 8 years ago, photographers and backpackers photographed the morning's shimmering pink grass hills, and these grassy hills became more well-known as a result. However, many people do not carefully learn about the most beautiful grass time of day, so it takes time to dive into the place and then be disappointed.

To get the best view of the grass, you must "ambush" early in the morning, between 5 and 7 a.m. You will be able to witness the transformative moments of velvet carpets spanning dozens of hectares. Around 5.6 a.m., the sun was still hidden behind the hills, with only a sliver of light in the sky, grass, and dew like a thin layer of succulent snow on the ground. Dreamers also refer to pink grass as snow grass at this time. Young people frequently choose to date each other to camp, spend the night in the grassy hills, and wake up the next morning to see a region that is both pure and wild in front of their eyes, sit and tell headless stories together, or quietly enjoy the cool peaceful air. In a poetic setting, silence is sufficient.

The sun rises around 6 to 7 a.m., the early rays of the day reflect on hundreds of millions of tiny dewdrops clinging to the leaves, the flowers make the scene shimmer, and the grass color changes from green to pink. This is the time of year when many people fall in love, and it is also the best time to take photos with pink grass.

The Golden Valley tourist area and the Lonely Tree area are two popular places to see pink grass. To reach these pink grass hills from the center of Da Lat, take the Hoa Binh area landmark and travel about 20 kilometers towards Suoi Vang Lake, to the gate of the Golden Valley tourist area, and turn your left hand. Dalat also hosts the annual Pink Grass Hill festival here. If you want more privacy to enjoy the tranquility, walk 5 kilometers to the Golden Valley junction in the direction of Cu Times village, then continue on the trail for another 5 kilometers to the Lonely Tree. The road to this location is long and difficult to reach, but once there, you will find it worthwhile. In front of you is a lake, in the distance are hillsides hidden behind a thin mist, behind you is a forest of pine leaves gleaming in the early sun and a delicate pink stretches at the foot of the grass.

Dalat with pink grass, wild kneeling, purple phoenix, cloud dew, and weather in desperate need of warmth... Not only is it a popular tourist destination, but it has also become a popular private location for couple dating. Thinking about that place over the years was not filled with glorious nostalgia, but with a light breath, a quiet story, whispering together...

View the sea of clouds floating over Da Lat

What could be more beautiful than a dim morning in the cold air of Da lat heaven and earth, admiring the beautiful scenery of the sea of clouds floating on Thien Phuc Duc (Thiên Phúc Đức) hill, known as the "cloud hunting mecca" of this romantic city...

There are many named and unnamed hills in Dalat where visitors can see the city from above, watch the mist fly, catch the sunrise, or send the ocean to the end of the sky. Those who have been quietly watching the sea of white clouds like a fairyland in the early morning or evening will remember it for a long time.

Cu (Cú) Hill, Da Phu (Đa Phú) Hill, Robin Hill, Du Sinh Hill, Bald (Trọc) Hill (also known as Bridal (Cô Dâu) Hill - where couples often choose to take wedding photos), Hon Bo (Hòn Bồ) Hill, Ngo Quyen (Ngô Quyền) Hill, Pinhatt Hill, LangBiang Peak, and others are famous hill names. It's impossible not to mention Thien Phuc Duc hill, which backpackers call the beautiful name "cloud hunting mecca" of haughty Da Lat.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is known among backpackers as Da Lat's "cloud-hunting mecca."

Where is Thien Phuc Duc Hill?

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is a lovely, not-too-high hill in Ward 7, opposite Langbiang Mountain, about 8 kilometers from the city center of Dalat. Using Google Maps, visitors can easily locate the Thien Phuc Duc hill area.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is an untapped tourist destination, so it is still quite wild, a popular destination for backpacking enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts looking to "hunt" beautiful landscape photos of Da Lat's dew, clouds, early sunlight, or sunset.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is a relatively undiscovered destination.

This is a popular destination for photographers looking to "hunt" for beautiful landscape photos of Da Lat's dew, clouds, early sunlight, or sunset.

Visitors arriving by motorcycle will park their vehicles at people's homes at the base of Thien Phuc Duc hill. Then, follow the rugged trail to the top, begin your journey of discovery, and enjoy the scenery from the hill.

The best time to go "cloud hunting" in Dalat

"Cloud hunting," according to previous experience, is a very arbitrary thing. If you have a destiny, you will meet the sea of clouds tomorrow morning or evening. If there is no predestination, you will not see it with your own eyes no matter how many times you go.

In general, visitors to Dalat can "hunt" clouds at any time of year and in any season. However, the most beautiful sea of clouds can be found during the rainy season, which lasts from June to August on the calendar, or in the early winter, between October and November. The sea of clouds is most likely to be seen on rainy nights the night before; the next morning is dark, the space is dense, and the humidity is high. However, as previously stated, successful "cloud hunting" in Da Lat is also dependent on two words: "depending on fate"!

If everything goes as planned, the best time to "hunt for clouds" is early in the morning. You can watch the sunrise from the top of Thien Phuc Duc Hill, and see the scenery change from black to dark purple, then blue, then pink, then orange, then yellow...

When it was still dark, the Hill of Heavenly Blessings was dim.

A sea of flickering clouds encircles mountains and hills.

The sun gradually fades.

The most anticipated moment of the day...

The early morning sun's bright rays

Dew and clouds have blurred a corner of Dalat city.

Some observations made while "cloud hunting" on Thien Phuc Duc Hill

Before going "cloud hunting" one day, check the weather forecast. If there was rain the night before and it is clear and cloudy the next morning, the chances of seeing the sea of clouds are very high.

If you're traveling by motorcycle alone, make sure to check your car's equipment, fill up your tank, notify your hotel that you'll be leaving early the next morning, allow them to park your car outside for easy access, and quickly open the door when you call.

Before going to bed, keep an eye on the alarm clock. The most beautiful sea of clouds can be seen just before dawn when the sun has just risen. Check the sunrise time the next morning, as well as the distance from where you stayed overnight to Thien Phuc Duc Hill, so you can set your alarm clock and leave on time.

Dalat weather will be very cold in the early morning, around 15-17 degrees Celsius, or sometimes lower, depending on the time. As a result, you should dress warmly, including a full coat, shawl, handkerchief, socks, and so on.

It was still dark when we arrived at the foothills. You should bring a flashlight (or use the flashlight on your phone) and, especially, a pair of comfortable walking shoes for the rough road up the hill. If you travel during the rainy season, this road will be smoother and more difficult to navigate.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill, as previously stated, is not a tourist destination, so there is almost no food service for visitors. You can prepare food to satisfy hunger, make tea, and bring coffee to "chill" with friends on the hilltop while watching the sunrise.

It is also critical to remember to fully charge your phone, as well as your photography and videography equipment. You can also bring a spare battery charger because the sea of clouds or sunrise from Thien Phuc Duc hill will have you pressing nonstop.

The sea view of clouds or sunrise from Thien Phuc Duc hill is spectacular, and you will want to shoot nonstop.

In the iridescent yellow of dawn, downy dew settles on the pine leaves.

If you enjoy backpacking and have had many encounters with nature, you can also camp on your own right on the top of the hill, so that when you wake up the next morning, there is already a "fairytale" waiting place.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is a popular camping spot for visitors.

Finally, be a considerate and environmentally conscious traveler. Do not run or play too much because it is dangerous and can affect other visitors. Take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints, as the tourist maxim goes.

When the monsoon rains stop, every corner of the hill in Da Lat is decked out in bright flowers.

In the early winter, tourists flock to Dalat because of the flower's radiant yellow color, which symbolizes the land's intense vitality.

It's a wild flower, a wildflower, persistently waiting for 12 months and then suddenly growing quickly, rising along roadsides, weaving on hillsides, or waiting quietly in the deep valley.

October is the month when wildflowers bloom, turning Da Lat's earth and sky yellow. The season of kneeling wildflowers is very special to me. The beauty of the streets with bright yellow flowers makes my heart sing. There are places throughout the country where kneeling blooms on this occasion, but only in Da Lat can we feel the harmony between flowers and people.

On the plateau, the pure beauty of wildflowers kneels.

When the monsoon rains in Nha Trang had just ended, I hopped on my motorcycle and rode to Da Lat to fulfill my promise to kneel. You can enjoy the yellow flowers as you travel from Nha Trang through Khanh Le pass to "Little Paris Central Highlands," passing through Thai Tran flower village.

Either walk through the Cau Dat (Cầu Đất) tourist area or around the road to the top of Langbiang or The Valley of Love... It is also filled with wild sunflowers during this time for you to contemplate.

The roads leading to the Central Highlands are all bright yellow with wildflowers in October.

I drove to Ta Nung again on my way to Da Lat in the afternoon. The section leading to Nguyen Huu Hao's mausoleum has the distinct yellow color of the Central Highlands kneeling. It's been quietly blooming here for a long time, but the lack of human footprints has enhanced the beauty of the flowers.

On Ta Nung Pass, you will see a lot of young people looking for flowers. They capture their youth during the wildflower season in stunning photographs.

Ta Nung is in the midst of the wild sunflower.

In addition, on my way out of Pleiku City, I stopped at Kon Tum. The road is only 40 kilometers long and is normally lined with trees and green grass.

However, during the wildflower season, the road suddenly glows yellow. Wildflowers grow in flaps that can stretch for kilometers. Flowers bloom in the wind, creating a beautiful scene that causes people passing by the road to slow down.

The young couple discovered a lovely check-in spot near the wildflower bush.

I also visited Pleiku's Bien Ho (Biển Hồ). With the road leading to the green pine forest, the Lake is naturally beautiful. This path glows with incense during the wildflower season. Wildflowers in the Lake typically bloom later than elsewhere.

I even drove past the Spectacular Pass (Đèo Ngoạn Mục) just to look at the scenery. The golden flowers on this road are truly magical! There are crab arches on Spectacular Pass, and there is a large field for you to pause. I was enjoying the majestic beauty of nature when I noticed a whole flap of wild sunflower cheering in the sun on the high mountain slopes.

The wild sunflower kneeling man stretched out his arms to catch the rays of the sun.

Dalat may not be a new destination for you, but during the wildflower blooming season, you will experience a very different Dalat, romantic and deep in the golden color of the flower that has won so many visitors' hearts. The blooming yellow wildflowers will be a charming invitation message for visitors to find the "city of thousands of flowers" on the eve of this year's flower festival.

Dalat’s “Above the clouds” Campground

Young people adore the campsite on a hill, which overlooks a valley covered in a floating "sea of clouds."

The campground on Thien Phuc Duc hill, about 10 kilometers from the city center, has recently become a popular tourist destination in Da Lat. This hill is a well-known 'cloud hunting' location in the city of thousands of flowers, particularly in the last months of the year. Stepping out of the warm tent in the morning, visitors can see the sea of clouds right in front of their eyes.

On cold days, white Mongolian tents are obscured by clouds, and the scenery is hazy.

Inside the tent, basic furniture such as cushions, chairs, and floor mats... provide comfort. Visitors should bring insect repellent, which is essential when camping in a remote location like this.

The valleys and cages that planted the farms' crops gradually appeared as the dew cleared. Visitors walk back from here to the 'lonely pine tree' a few tens of meters away - the 'virtual living' point that draws visitors to Thien Phuc Duc hill.

String lights are used at the campground in the evening. Tents were arranged around the area, and people gathered to chat and build campfires in the middle ground. Because of its location on the hill, this area is ideal for stargazing and taking super virtual' exposure photos.

Weekend campgrounds are typically crowded, so visitors should make reservations in advance. The food is prepared in a bbq style that is both 'chill' and fun.

Visitors drive to Lang Biang from the city center. Thien Phuc Duc Hill, which is located opposite this mountain, is a great place to watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Visitors come to check in and enjoy the view if they are not camping here. People who want to camp alone can find a nearby vacant space, a good location to set up tents, and park their cars at people's homes.

Cafes in Dalat - Pay According to Satisfaction

Diners who drink tea and coffee can freely pay based on their dining experience. The café on Trieu Viet Vuong Street, more than 2 kilometers from Xuan Huong Lake, is a popular hangout for many young people visiting Da Lat. The walls and stairs are primarily made of wood. The wall behind the window is covered in notes, where visitors can save their conversations. The interior of the shop is designed in a classic style, with antique tables and chairs, wooden pianos... The majority of the employees are disabled. Diners who place an order or make a request will write it down on a piece of paper and hand it to the wait staff.

The menu is simple, with some familiar water dishes like tea and coffee... Water dishes are free of charge. A wooden crate stood in front of the small kitchen. Diners pay "depending on the satisfaction and happiness of being here," according to the restaurant's menu. The front yard is open and light. Tables and chairs are arranged beneath the canopy. The restaurant is quite crowded in the morning and afternoon, but everyone is limited to speaking loudly, so it is not too noisy. The back of the shop overlooks a small, covered garden, and the winters are slightly cold and windy. Guests can sit here and watch the wildflowers bloom bright yellow from October 10-11. This is also an appropriate address for people traveling alone who want to find a 'chill' corner away from other people.Despite being close to the city center and on a major thoroughfare, the space here is still very quiet due to its location beneath a slope. Many trees surround the shop, giving the impression that you are lost in a fairy garden. The shop has numerous 'virtual living' corners that are ideal for photography.Tourists in taxis will arrive at the top of the slope after walking down a few tens of meters. The roadside flowers are stunning. You can run to the front of the shop and park right next to it if you ride a motorcycle.

Ripe Persimmon Season in Dalat

Cafes and persimmon gardens are popular check-in points for tourists visiting Dalat at this time.

Many tourists visiting Da Lat city (Lam Dong) between September 9 and 12 will take advantage of checking in at cafes and persimmon gardens. This is also a popular activity for Dalat visitors at the end of the year.

Attracting young people on weekends

Representatives of some rose gardens told us that customers, particularly young people, began to inquire about the ripe pink season as early as the end of August.

Tom's Persimmon Garden Coffee Shop representative Hoang Duc stated: "Dalat's persimmons are currently entering the season. The number of visitors who come to see me and check in with me is also higher than in previous periods. During the week, there are 150-200 guests; at the end of the week, the number rises to 300-400."

"The restaurant's persimmon garden has also begun to ripen, increasing the number of customers who come to check-in. Although there are no specific statistics, I notice a difference in the number of visitors on weekdays and weekends "Ngoc Lan, a representative for Túi Mơ To, explained.

According to cafe surveys, the majority of visitors interested in the ripe persimmon season are young people and small families. Young people prefer to stay in places with hot scenery, so they frequently "hunt" for destinations based on the criterion of "what season is awake."

Aside from the well-known attractions, the café has a lovely atmosphere... The persimmon garden is also a popular destination for many visitors. It will be difficult to compete in the market if the rose garden is only a check-in point.

Many visitors are also interested in new pink-themed activities and products.

As a result, in addition to the sightseeing and photography space, cafes and persimmon gardens on Dalat must organize a variety of new activities to attract customers.

Foothills Café's representative stated: "My shop has organized a persimmon picking activity in the garden for the first time this year. The number of visitors who expressed an interest far exceeded my expectations."

The salon welcomed over 40 guests to experience it from the very first session. Despite the fact that it is not the only or first place in Da Lat to carry out this activity, the shop continues to attract new customers.

Persimmon products are also popular among visitors. "In addition to drinking coffee and visiting the persimmon garden, many customers are interested in products made from persimmon," Hoang Duc explained.

Being hand-picked and seeing ripe persimmons makes visitors feel more confident in the product's quality. After eating on the spot, some people put large quantities as gifts, increasing revenue for restaurants and gardeners.

Visitors' favorite items include wind-hung persimmons, pink wine, crispy pinks, and so on.

Visitors will be interested in several homestays with rose gardens, in addition to garden houses or cafes, during this time. According to Zing's survey, some customers are willing to forego beautiful views in order to stay in homestays with persimmons plantations.

Some notes when checking in for the ripe persimmon season

Last weekend, tourist Le Thao (HCMC) visited a café on Da Lat's Khe Sanh Street to "hunt" for the ripe persimmons season. She did, however, express regret for not having had the full experience.

"I followed the shop on my fan page and saw pictures of ripe persimmons branches. I liked the atmosphere here, so I went for a drink and checked in using persimmons. However, when I arrived, I realized that the shop only had a small persimmons corner and was also very crowded, making it difficult to take pictures "According to Le Thao.

The female tourist continued: "In fact, as depicted in the image, the check-in area is quite small and not particularly poetic. I'm also a little down."

Visitors can refer to the following notes from cafe and gardener representatives in DaLat for the best experience with the ripe pink season:

The persimmons season typically begins on September 9 and lasts until the end of December 12. However, from October onwards, persimmon begins to ripen at its peak, and it is also the most beautiful season for persimmons.

Persimmons color selection: Ripe red persimmons, like tomatoes, are fruits that can be picked and consumed immediately. The fruits are yellow; orange is astringent and requires more time and processing before it can be used.

Suitable attire: If visiting early in the season, visitors may encounter rain, and the path in the persimmons gardens will be quite muddy. Clothing that is not too fussy, as well as dark shoes, will be appropriate for the check-in.

The time frame for photography: In general, visitors can take photos with persimmons from morning to afternoon. To avoid crowding, however, you should enlist early.

Night Dew in Dalat

Le Hoang Mien described the experience of searching through the mist in Da Lat for patches of night dew or light.

With a wide variety of blossoming flowers, the green of the hills, pine forests, and notably the dewy season, clouds, and mountains, nature creates mesmerizing views in the Lam Dong highlands.

In Le Hoang Mien's photo series of Dalat at about 5:00 in the morning (born in 1992). The author, a Dong Nai native who now resides in Ho Chi Minh City, has won numerous national and international accolades, including the gold medal in the portrait category at the Dalat Yersin 2022 festival, the silver medal at the HCMC Regional Art Photo Festival, and the bronze medal at the HC photo art sea games moment 31. From 2020 to the present, the author traveled with Lam Dong for the series.

"Dalat is lovely every hour of the day. At about two in the morning, I used the dew picture vigils to photograph the milky way in the night sky in the remote tree region of Cau Dat tea hill "explained Mien.

Those who want to see the night dew must climb Da Lat's highlands starting at around 23:00 the day before. The highland dew will then slowly pour into the city, covering every house, tree, and blade of grass. Photo was taken at 2 hours from Du Sinh hill, about 6 kilometers from Dalat's city center, with a view of the city.

Hoang Mien remarked that in the still of the night, he would have to pass du Sinh cemetery in order to get to Du Sinh Hill to view the dew. In contrast, the view of the homes and pine forests in the morning is empty due to the mist and the rising sun.

The mountain village is quite alluring and lovely, especially when the sunrise approaches in the morning. One of Hoang Mien's favorite pictures shows Dalat Teachers' College submerged in the morning mist.

Visitors might fulfill their desire of seeing heavier clouds by traveling further. The distance from Da Lat's city center to dew viewing locations ranges from 10 to 55 kilometers, with Omega Pass in the Lac Duong neighborhood being the most out at 55 kilometers. The image shows an early-morning vista of Omega Pass through a hazy mist. Along with being known as Omega, the pass is also well known by the names Hon Giao, Khanh Le, Bidoup, and Glitter.

The vista from Da Phu hill, 12 kilometers from the city center and renowned as one of Da Lat's most attractive cloud hunting locations seem to fascinate tourists.

"The majority of places have simple asphalt roads, but once you reach the foothills, you must ascend or you can ride your motorcycle directly up into the green hills by using the accessible trails. In addition to desire, travelling frequently to the shooting location to capture the dewy moments also relies on luck and the weather. There were instances when I arrived at the spot, but the day had no dew, so I departed "She spoke.

About 18 kilometers outside of the city center, in the morning mist, the author's photo was taken in the mountainous area near Dalat Golden stream.

At least six in the morning, the center of Dasar commune in Luoyang district, roughly 20 kilometers from Da Lat, was misty in the golden sun. Going to the suburbs is the best place to observe the mist dissipate. When surrounded by the humid air, the scenery is unusually serene.

A corner of Purple Stream and Tuyen Lam Lake, about 5 km south of Da Lat's town, is a popular location for photographers to capture the hazy season in images. Although it is sunny here, there is still a lot of dense fog, which gives the lake a fantasy-like appearance.

When visitors travel to capture pictures of the frost season, Hoang Mien provided some advice: prepare a digital car strong enough to ascend the hill, and fill the gas tank before dusk because it's late. There is no location to refuel in Dalat. In order to maintain body heat before the Dalat cold, prepare warm coats, gloves, and woolen caps.

The pine line along Highway 20 near Da Loc Church in the Xuan Tho Commune in Da Lat is shrouded in mist.

The three-leaf pine trees that predominate in Da Lat have pointed foliage that looks both beautiful and soulful. The pine trees are not particularly dark, but they do have up to four stories. The provenance of this 3-leaf pine has not yet been discussed by anyone present. The gate that guards the entire province is simply the knowledge that pine is a type of universally green leaf. bringing distinctive qualities that are challenging to misunderstand to the city. It's not just one big gift of consciousness; it's also the sky of the economy.

You experience more than just the poetic ghost of the place when you visit Da Lat's pine trees. However, it is also the origin of innumerable gorgeous photographs that enthrall viewers. The images are as lovely as they appear to produce randomness and human harmony. For Da Lat enthusiasts, the dazzling wedding photograph displayed at the flower gate or in the anniversary album always leaves an impression of the pine forest landscape. Let's investigate together:

1. Pine forest on Khoi Nghia Bac Son street

We shall arrive at our destination by each route. No matter how lengthy or how short the trip is. However, the best course of action is to pick out for yourself 1 suitable street portion. This is the secret that we decide to keep. Two kilometers from the faithful commune, you can choose whether to travel by cab or motorcycle.

For instance, the Dalat market's entrance will be the starting place if you travel by motorcycle. After passing through the roundabout, turn left onto Ho Tung Mau route and go to Tran Quoc Toan street. Let's now travel a short distance more to the Khoi Nghia Bac Son pine forest. This location is conveniently close to the center of gravity, making it safe for you to explore in peace.

Characteristics of Northern Mountain developing pine woodland

The distinctive feature of this pine forest is that there is never a time of day that is good for sightseeing. You must thus pay attention. We believe that the entire family should visit this place between the hours of 3 and 5, especially during the dry season. when the sun's dazzling rays gave way to peace, kindness, and whimsy.

The moment just before the human heart returns to its most intense emotion In the interior, on the cold forest carpet, and beneath the shady pines, follow the trail. In order to fully appreciate the genuine value of life, try closing your eyes and your nose and immersing yourself in the space created by taking a deep breath. One great photo is all you can do for this pose. However, Vietnam is a wonderful place. Getting lost here is like getting lost in the European nuggets.

2. Lamented lake (Hồ Than Thở) pine forest

Ho Than Tho remarked that the name might be too well known for people to possess the middle senses and consistently pay attention to the city of thousands of blooms. Flowers expressed their regret for Pine Hill 2 burial, the location that witnessed the intense love tale.

It can be argued that lying on the 7 km center of gravity method is somewhat remote. However, owning a smartphone with a 3g connection alone is enough to satisfy you. One of the most sought-after discoveries in this pine forest is small yet romantic. 1 The fact that cute horses are taken to munch grass by their owners every day is highly intriguing. In fact, you should take advantage of this time to check in with them.

Another smart move is to arrive here early. The downy mildew drips were still present on the interstitial leaves at this time, and the sun's rays could be seen through the shimmering style. 1 One cannot disregard the background. You can think about selecting photos to upload when traveling with a small group of close friends and their cameras. since it's so fantastic. You shouldn't be in the evening, just as an aside. There are numerous hazardous persons hiding because the road is relatively far away and is drenching people.

3. Pine Forest of Prenn Pass

This famous pass route must not be strange to anyone who loves the city of thousands of flowers here. Prenn Pass winds, circling the high mountains of Lam Dong province. This road lasts about 11km. This is the main road leading to Dalat City, so there are many cars passing by plus bends, so please note. If you carry 1 solid steering wheel, this road is for you. In addition, on the journey, you will also encounter a large number of famous tourist destinations. If you own the period, try a visit.

The Prenn Pass has gained a lot of notoriety on the Linyuan plateau throughout the years. Because of the trees and pine woods that line the streets, rather than the gaudy artificial decorations, which divert onlookers. On the good slopes, cast your gaze out into the horizon to take in the lush world. To hear the sound of the mountains and forests once more, skip to the first photo of the check-in paths or simply shout. For instance, if you enjoy romance, kindly follow Prenn daily between 3 and 5 o'clock.

4. Dalat Pine Forest in Tuyen Lam Lake

Xuan Huong Lake is more lovely and colorful than Tuyen Lam Lake. possessing a large number of oases around the lake. This well-known location was once home to a single man-made lake that had a surface size of up to 320 hectares. But a big thanks to the time model's deep friendship and the romantic coincidence landscape. Tuyen Lam Lake is currently listed as one of Vietnam's top 21 tourist destinations.

About 6 kilometers from Da lat ward's core. 1 The scenery of the world is crisp and chilly. He is somewhere surrounded by the calmness and lightness of the Truc Lam Zen Monastery. Visit the pine forest, visit the pagoda, or unwind in a 3-5 star Dalat resort. We observe daybreak in the morning while admiring how the lake sparkles through the mist. Come in the afternoon to watch the sunset and enjoy the entertainment provided by the vendors. 1 You must consider traveling with your family, especially your traveling partners.

Modern civilization is growing stronger and stronger. People continue to believe that the untamed and rural ideals that were easily acquired in ancient times are likewise coming to an end. But it doesn't really make sense, does it? The pine forest here still has the same abruptly bright, rustic character as it did in the past. Going far into the trails, pay particular attention to the vibrating pine trees. Owning virtual living photographs that flood people's hearts is a truly lovely concept.

5. Pink grass hill pine forest

The sky was blue, the land was pink, and the trees were green. The lovely image that keeps coming to mind in dreams. However, it can be found in the Da Lat pink grass hill. Without using any words, the beauty of creation can be seen. When we come here, we can only experience it all with our hearts.

There is only one instance of the city's pink grass season per year. But all it needs to do is flaunt itself to become the most well-known antique bloom in this region. Come here extremely early to check in after one lengthy nap. Purchase lovely sets for your discovery collection. A place that couples can feel safe in and select as the setting for their wedding photos.

gives the Pink Grass Exchange Pine Forest a negative. That is the method, which is up to 14 kilometers away from Dalat City. But it has a ton of advantages for this scenery. Visitors will be amazed and enthralled by the romanticism that permeates the space without a way out because of the strangeness of the vivid season of flowers and grass. The Soviet street Nghe Tinh or Ankroet can be followed from here. A handwritten map or a google map are both excellent options. The first backpackers to arrive in the available space on the S-shape are always given access to this intriguing location.

6. Dalat pine forest on the street to Cau Dat tea hill

The green tea hills that glow in the Sun's rays are indispensable when discussing the Earth Bridge. It is a country that has stolen the hearts of many people who, in general, love Dalat. This location was also chosen as one of the top 10 sites to see on the way to the city of thousands of flowers. But few of us are aware that this location also has a breathtaking forest.

It may be argued that this pine forest serves as a living example of how Da lat's suburban lake is always evolving. Large, mature pine trees that still have vigor. The spontaneous, unspoiled background romance that many tourists experience warms their hearts. Additionally, there are photographers with a lot of experience.

7. Pine forest in Bao Dai I Palace area

For those who enjoy the outdoors, climbing Dalat's tallest peak, Langbiang, is a rewarding experience. You can go 18 kilometers to view Dalat's panoramic splendor, which lies at an elevation of 2,167 m. Langbiang trekking is suitable for people without prior experience because of the calm atmosphere and simple path! Push yourself once and go exploring in the mountains and forests! In order to help you get ready for your walk across Langbiang, KKday will provide detailed experiences in this article.

The ideal time to hike Langbiang

Travel to Langbiang is advised during the dry season (November to March). Your journey is more convenient and comfortable in a cool, dry climate. The wet season, which lasts from April to October, makes it tough for your Langbiang hiking due to the slick forest road. You can hike to the summit of Langbiang in 2 to 3 hours, depending on your health. You can set out in the morning, up the mountain, and then relax until midday. Then descend slowly for a further one to two hours. Spending roughly half a day on this Langbiang trekking trip is prudent.

You can set up a tent for the night at the top of the mountain if you enjoy cloud-spotting. You will be able to take in the spectacular sunrise and the cloud sea at that moment. Additionally, the nighttime illumination of Da Lat in the white mist is dazzling and imaginative. Keep in mind that the temperature lowers significantly at night, so you should have enough of warm clothes ready.

2. How to get to Langbiang

About 15 kilometers away from Da Lat's core is Lạc Dương Town, which includes Langbiang Mountain. Three peaks make up Langbiang: Ra Da Hill, Ong Mountain, and Ba Mountain. Since Mount Ba is the highest mountain in the area, everyone who visits Langbiang to go hiking wants to climb it as well.

Typically, guests will go to LangBiang resort by bus, vehicle, or motorcycle. Visitors can then ride in a vehicle to reach Ra Da Hill, which is 1,929 meters above sea level. Tourists frequently arrive at this location to check-in. You can begin your trek from the mountain's base while passing by the chests of the residents. As you continue in this direction, an asphalt jeep road will appear; simply follow it. This street is flat, simple to stroll, steep, and extremely cool.

Continue turning right as instructed after arriving at the junction of Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park checkpoint! This path is also shown on Google Map, so you won't have to worry about getting lost as much. The vegetation along this stretch of the forest road is extremely diverse and gradually changes with elevation. You'll have a sense of being lost in another universe here! birds chirping, natural woodland fragrances, and a cool, fresh atmosphere. Before preparing for the last leg, take advantage of the break.

You are only 960m from the top when you reach the area designated as a "bird observation site." It does, however, require a lot of strength because there are several, tall, steep steps to ascend. You must exercise extreme caution because this stretch of the road is covered by an extremely dense and moist forest canopy. After overcoming the difficult path, Langbiang Peak suddenly materialized before your eyes with an outstanding view!

3. Interesting experiences while trekking Langbiang

Find out how lovely and prosperous your nation is! Contact the Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park Management Board to sign up for the tour if you'd like to hear the explanation and learn more about the flora and animals of Langbiang.

To breathe in the clean, crisp air, leave the hectic city.

An 18-kilometer trekking trip will put your stamina and determination to the test.

The milky way may be seen from the peak of the mountain, which is more than 2,000 meters high, where you can camp overnight.

Dining with Chef Peter in Dalat

The senior chef at Anan Saigon, a contemporary Vietnamese eatery tucked away inside the Cho Cu wet market, is Peter Cuong Franklin. Peter is a Le Cordon Bleu graduate who has studied culinary anthropology and gastronomy in the United States. He developed his abilities at eateries like Chicago's Alinea and Hong Kong's Caprice before returning to Vietnam where he is working to reinvent Vietnamese cuisine. He shares his favorite recipes and recollections from his birthplace of Da Lat here.

When she was a teenager, my mother left the central province of Quang Nam and moved to Da Lat. I recall accompanying her to the Da Lat market when I was a young child to get ingredients for her mi Quang (mì Quảng), a traditional pork noodle soup with yellow turmeric rice noodles. The market was a unique setting consisting of unusual meats, seafood, and colorful vegetables as well as bustling commerce.

The best Da Lat dishes nowadays are created with seasonal ingredients and meats acquired from the farms that surround the hill town. Just about anything may be cultivated in the city due to its fertile terrain and mild highland environment. Avocados, strawberries, asparagus, artichokes, grapes, tea, coffee, flowers, and wild mountain mushrooms are just a few of the best ingredients in Vietnam that can be found in Da Lat.

The French built Da Lat during the colonial era as a hill station to get away from the oppressive Saigon heat and as a health spa for soldiers and government workers. Da Lat's population has greatly risen from the early days when there were only a few ethnic minorities. Like my mother, the majority of recent immigrants are from various regions in Central Vietnam. As a result, Da Lat is home to numerous well-known foods from the central region, including bánh bèo, bánh xèo, and bn b Hu. Due to its moderate mountain environment and the mixture of culinary traditions from many parts of Vietnam as well as from Europeans, Chinese, and ethnic minorities, Da Lat has some of the most diversified cuisines in all of Vietnam.

When I find myself back in Da Lat, I invariably eat these five dishes.

Mì Quảng

Mi Quang (mì Quảng) is one of my mother's signature meals. I've eaten my mother's recipe and many other variations of this dish, but I recently came across a flavorful and rich version of it in the wet market of Da Lat. The pork knuckle was added in such large quantities to the broth that it began to resemble tonkatsu ramen rather than the typically light and occasionally watery variety. This bowl of noodles in a turmeric broth with pork knuckles was a revelation.

Bánh Bèo

Because of its brevity and purity, bánh bèo is one of my favorite foods. The Hue variation is a spoon-sized snack consisting of rice and tapioca flour that is boiled in a little ceramic bowl. The bánh bèo is delicately scooped out of the steaming bowl after steaming and served with a light fish sauce, crispy pork skin, fresh chiles, and fried shallots. Consider having it for a morning or afternoon snack.

Try it: Banh Beo so 4 Ba Huong, 402 Phan Dinh Phung, Da Lat

Phở Bò

The pho of Da Lat is extremely distinct from other areas. With the addition of a dish of fresh herbs and crisp European lettuce greens brought by the French during the colonial era, its food is made in the style of Hanoi that combines with the fertile, abundant mountain climate of Da Lat. It's fusion, right? Most people would undoubtedly scream "fusion" if I served Da Lat lettuce with the ph at my restaurant Anan Saigon. This is how the locals of Da Lat consume ph every day. It makes sense to include the lovely lettuce greens they have on hand.

Try it: Quán 1C, 1 Tăng Bạt Hổ, Da Lat

Bánh Mì Xíu Mại

The Da Lat-style banh mi xiu mai is served hot, in contrast to the cold slices banh mi served in Saigon. The sandwich is presented as a bowl of warm pork meatball soup, a heated grilled baguette, and a blend of shredded papaya and fresh herbs due to the cooler climate in this mountain city. Most locals only eat one, but this lady is aware that I frequently buy two with more chili because I enjoy a little heat with my bánh m and the chili is so great.

Try it: Bánh mì xíu mại BH, 16 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Da Lat

Bánh Căn

The steamed rice cake known as Hue bánh bèo gave rise to the Da Lat delicacy known as bánh căn. Bánh Căn is barbecued over a charcoal brazier with a quail egg or duck egg on top in Da Lat due to the region's milder environment. It is preferable to have this traditional Da Lat dish for breakfast or a light snack in the early morning. The dish bánh căn is more common in Da Lat, and you can currently find it at numerous locations in the city's center, particularly in the Hoa Binh region.
