Binh Thuan’s Unknown Chăm Tower Cluster

Cham Pô Dam temple group relic (also known as Pô Ban) is one of the early architectural and artistic styles of the Cham Pa Kingdom and was designated as a national cultural and historical relic in 1996. It is located at the foot of Ông Xiêm mountain in Phu Lac commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.

This temple complex consists of six towers, only four of which have been restored.

The tower cluster's remnants have collapsed.

In 1996, the Po Dam temple complex was designated as a National Monument of Art Architecture.

Despite extensive research by archaeologists, the precise date of construction of Pô Dam remains unknown. The towering cluster is thought to have been built between the second half of the eighth and early ninth centuries.

When visiting Pô Dam tower, visitors will undoubtedly notice similarities in construction techniques and architectural art of Cham tower groups.

However, this location differs from other Cham tower groups in that it is built at the foot of the hill rather than on the hill, and the main doors face south rather than north.

Photographed from within the tower.

Outside the tower, there are several places of worship.

Another unique feature of the Pô Dam tower group is that all six towers are smaller and lower than other Cham towers (the highest 7-8m, each bottom edge 3-3.5m).

This is where the Cham people hold important religious ceremonies such as the Cầu đảo ceremony, Tống ôn ceremony, Cầu mưa ceremony, and Ka-tê, the Cham people's largest festival.

Visitors can see the golden rice 'carpets' from the tower cluster in August and September, and the Tuy Phong wind power field is in the distance.

Visitors will be able to see the golden ripe rice field, dragon fruit garden, herds of cows grazing... as well as the enthusiasm and hospitality of the people of the nation here on their way to the tower cluster.

The Record Book Center has recognized Mui Ne Sand Dunes as a unique poetic 'desert' of Vietnam.

Mui Ne Cat Bay Hill is located in Phan Thiet City's Quarter 5, Mui Ne Ward. Sand dunes are formed for a very long time, stretching over a large area, with a total area of nearly 50ha. The sand here is a variety of colors, with the most common being yellow, ivory white, dark red, and light red. The combination looks great.

Windsurfing on snow is popular in Western countries, but in Vietnam, you can windsurf on the sand, a unique sport found only in Binh Thuan. Visitors can see the panoramic view of Mui Ne from the sand dunes, which are covered with a vast blue color of the sea mixed with the yellow color of the sand under the bright sun, creating a charming, wild, and poetic style that makes visitors feel like they are flying in the middle of nature.

As a result, the Mui Ne Sand Dunes are a priceless gift from nature to the Binh Thuan people. This location has become a popular tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors over the years. Not only that, but it is also an artistic topic that has inspired many photographers.

Images to Save When Visiting Cu Lao Thu

Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan, also known as Cu Lao Thu, is about 120 kilometers from the mainland and has pristine and peaceful scenery. If you plan to visit this summer, please see the check-in locations listed below.

This island, unlike many other tourist destinations, has not been fully commercialized, so it retains its natural wildness and tranquility. Visitors should allow three to four days to fully appreciate the beauty of Phu Quy Island.

Here are some attractions in Phu Quy that visitors can see while on their trip.

High Sand Mountain

Cao Cat Mountain, located in the north of Phu Quy Island, is one of the highest mountains on the island, rising about 100 meters above sea level. The majestic Linh Son Pagoda and the statue of Quan Âm Buddha facing the sea can be found on Cao Cat Mountain.

Visitors can see a panoramic view of the small island district from the top of the mountain, overlooking the distance. The most appealing feature here is the dark cliffs, which have unique shapes and horizontal grooves caused by weathering, creating a majestic scene.

This unique scene has inspired many unique check-in photos, and many visitors compare it to the Grand Canyon in the United States.

Triều Dương Bay

This is a small beach with clear blue water and fine white sand that stretches for miles. The afternoon is the best time for visitors to come here to swim in the sea because the waves gently create a sense of relaxation and enjoyment.

Flagpole of Phu Quy Island

The flagpole, which stands 22.6 meters tall and faces the sea, is made entirely of reinforced concrete. Standing here, watching the flag fly proudly in the middle of the Fatherland's sea and sky, will make visitors love and be proud of their homeland.

Little Beach

Little Beach, with its semicircle shape and clear turquoise sea water, is located beneath the Fatherland's flagpole. Visitors only need to park their motorcycle on the road and then walk down the mountain to reach the beach.

The rudimentary black rocks here, in particular, have many strange shapes stretching out to the sea, creating a wild and impressive scene.

Gành Hang

Visitors will arrive at Ganh Hang after walking about 500 meters from Little Beach. There are large cliffs close to the sea, strong waves, and seawater flooding in to form a lovely "infinity pool" here.

The path down to the "infinity pool" has many sharp corals and walks on slippery rocks, so the adventurer must be careful not to trip. Avoid going near the edge of the "infinity pool" in particular to avoid being dragged out by strong waves.

Hiking slopes

The ramp, also known as the 27/4 road, is a coastal road near the firing range of the border guards.

When visiting Phu Quy Island, visitors must check in at this location. With the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, it will undoubtedly produce stunning photographs.

Phu Quy Wind Power

Three white blowers stand out against the blue background of the sea on the island, creating a one-of-a-kind scene. Visitors can see these massive blowers from the top of Cao Cat Mountain.

Despite the fact that there are only three blower columns, if you work hard to find different angles, you will get beautiful photos right away.

Ocean Village Aquarium

This is an abandoned aquarium that has recently become popular among tourists as a check-in location. As a result of the abandonment, sea water flooded into the lake, creating a "giant swimming pool" that resembled an ancient relic floating on the sea surface.

Visitors will undoubtedly take beautiful photos of the blue sea and the "effect" of waves splashing white foam.

Hon Tranh

If you've seen most of the main attractions on Phu Quy Island, you can take a canoe to Hon Tranh, which is about 800 meters southeast of Phu Quy.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the clear blue water, and partake in fun sea activities such as boating or diving to the sea floor to admire the colorful coral reefs.

Hon Tranh is currently a military base, so there are almost no food or lodging options on the island. As a result, the adventurer can spend half a day in Hon Tranh before returning to the main island to continue the journey.

Dining at Phu Quy Island

Visitors to Phu Quy Island can not only swim in the sea and enjoy the pristine and peaceful natural scenery, but they can also eat a variety of seafood at a reasonable price. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood at the raft villages.

Some Phu Quy specialties that visitors should not miss include grouper, king crab, moon crab, red lobster, and hot cow...

Moving to Phu Quy Island

Visitors can take a bus or train from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet City. From here, proceed to the Phan Thiet shipping port and board the ship bound for the island.

Visitors should travel in the evening and arrive at the port early the next morning to board the ship to the island to save time. If you arrive at the port too early, you can stay in a nearby hotel while you wait to board the ship.

Tourists can choose from three cruise lines to the island: Phu Quy Express, Superdong, and Phu Quy Island. The journey from the mainland to the island takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the type of ship and whether it includes beds and chairs, fan rooms, or air-conditioned rooms.

Superdong and Phu Quy Express are the two largest and most prestigious high-speed trains, with tickets costing 350,000 VND / way/person. Normally, the ship departs Phan Thiet between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.

The train schedule will be different depending on the weather conditions. Visitors are encouraged to consult the high-speed train line's website for the daily train schedule and to purchase tickets online.

Because there are no taxis on the island right now, visitors should rent motorbikes to get around and actively explore. Because the island is not overly large, most of the main attractions can be reached by going exactly one round the island.

Stay

Because the island is still untouched and uncommercialized, there will be no high-end and luxurious accommodation options like in big cities. However, there are still reasonably priced motels, villas, and homestays ranging from 300,000 to 600,000 VND per night.

Furthermore, if you want to completely immerse yourself in nature, you can opt for an overnight camping experience.

The ideal time to visit Phu Quy island

The best time to visit Phu Quy Island is between 12 and 6 months next year. The island is currently in the dry season, which means that the weather is beautiful, there is little rain, the sky is clear, and the air is clean. The sea is calm this season, with few strong waves, but there may be rough seas at times, so visitors should check the weather forecast before visiting the island.

Visitors should avoid visiting Phu Quy island between October and November because there are rainstorms, rough seas, and large waves, making it unsafe to move and visit.
