Night Dew in Dalat

Le Hoang Mien described the experience of searching through the mist in Da Lat for patches of night dew or light.

With a wide variety of blossoming flowers, the green of the hills, pine forests, and notably the dewy season, clouds, and mountains, nature creates mesmerizing views in the Lam Dong highlands.

In Le Hoang Mien's photo series of Dalat at about 5:00 in the morning (born in 1992). The author, a Dong Nai native who now resides in Ho Chi Minh City, has won numerous national and international accolades, including the gold medal in the portrait category at the Dalat Yersin 2022 festival, the silver medal at the HCMC Regional Art Photo Festival, and the bronze medal at the HC photo art sea games moment 31. From 2020 to the present, the author traveled with Lam Dong for the series.

"Dalat is lovely every hour of the day. At about two in the morning, I used the dew picture vigils to photograph the milky way in the night sky in the remote tree region of Cau Dat tea hill "explained Mien.

Those who want to see the night dew must climb Da Lat's highlands starting at around 23:00 the day before. The highland dew will then slowly pour into the city, covering every house, tree, and blade of grass. Photo was taken at 2 hours from Du Sinh hill, about 6 kilometers from Dalat's city center, with a view of the city.

Hoang Mien remarked that in the still of the night, he would have to pass du Sinh cemetery in order to get to Du Sinh Hill to view the dew. In contrast, the view of the homes and pine forests in the morning is empty due to the mist and the rising sun.

The mountain village is quite alluring and lovely, especially when the sunrise approaches in the morning. One of Hoang Mien's favorite pictures shows Dalat Teachers' College submerged in the morning mist.

Visitors might fulfill their desire of seeing heavier clouds by traveling further. The distance from Da Lat's city center to dew viewing locations ranges from 10 to 55 kilometers, with Omega Pass in the Lac Duong neighborhood being the most out at 55 kilometers. The image shows an early-morning vista of Omega Pass through a hazy mist. Along with being known as Omega, the pass is also well known by the names Hon Giao, Khanh Le, Bidoup, and Glitter.

The vista from Da Phu hill, 12 kilometers from the city center and renowned as one of Da Lat's most attractive cloud hunting locations seem to fascinate tourists.

"The majority of places have simple asphalt roads, but once you reach the foothills, you must ascend or you can ride your motorcycle directly up into the green hills by using the accessible trails. In addition to desire, travelling frequently to the shooting location to capture the dewy moments also relies on luck and the weather. There were instances when I arrived at the spot, but the day had no dew, so I departed "She spoke.

About 18 kilometers outside of the city center, in the morning mist, the author's photo was taken in the mountainous area near Dalat Golden stream.

At least six in the morning, the center of Dasar commune in Luoyang district, roughly 20 kilometers from Da Lat, was misty in the golden sun. Going to the suburbs is the best place to observe the mist dissipate. When surrounded by the humid air, the scenery is unusually serene.

A corner of Purple Stream and Tuyen Lam Lake, about 5 km south of Da Lat's town, is a popular location for photographers to capture the hazy season in images. Although it is sunny here, there is still a lot of dense fog, which gives the lake a fantasy-like appearance.

When visitors travel to capture pictures of the frost season, Hoang Mien provided some advice: prepare a digital car strong enough to ascend the hill, and fill the gas tank before dusk because it's late. There is no location to refuel in Dalat. In order to maintain body heat before the Dalat cold, prepare warm coats, gloves, and woolen caps.

The pine line along Highway 20 near Da Loc Church in the Xuan Tho Commune in Da Lat is shrouded in mist.
